Nearly 900 essays were submitted from 7th-grade students across the state, each sharing their agenda to improve their community if they were mayor.
A winner was selected to represent each district and awarded a $250 college scholarship. The overall, statewide winner read her essay to Governor Brandstad and Lt. Governor Reynolds and was given a $500 scholarship.

- District 2: Kayden J. Rezac, Tipton, Tipton Middle School
- District 3: Rylee Krantz, Stuart, West Central Valley Middle School
- District 4 & Statewide: Holly Dierenfield, Storm Lake, Storm Lake Middle School
