Ivo Lopez, Ph.D., P.E. of Snyder & Associates, Inc., is slated to present at the 2016 International Erosion Control Association (IECA) Great Connections conference in La Crosse, WI. With more than 22 years of experience, Dr. Lopez will present on erosion control lessons gleaned during urban stream restoration included specific details from work completed on Fourmile Creek.
In addition, Adam Bullerman, P.E. of Snyder & Associates will be hosting the booth alongside Dr. Lopez to address questions and provide information to attendees on emerging stormwater objectives and issues including:
- Watershed management planning
- Influences of stormwater regulation/permitting
- Best practices and standard design/specifications
- Comprehensive asset management
- Funding and community engagement
IECA Great Connections is a bi-annual conference which brings together contractors, stormwater professionals, designers, and planners from 12 states and four provinces. This year’s event will be held at The La Crosse center July 26-28. Training courses, workshops, technical sessions, and a field tour are among the conference offerings, which prepare attendees for the construction season and certification review courses. William Stowe, CEO and GM of Des Moines Water Works, will provide the Keynote Address on how to control the effects of industrialized agriculture in Iowa. This year’s event is the second of its kind, following the 2014 IECA Great Connections Conference held in Davenport, IA which drew nearly 200 attendees.
