Heidi Putnam
About
Ms. Putnam is a planner with a BS in Natural Resources Planning and Professional GIS Certificates from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, and an MS in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she concentrated in Community-Engaged Watershed Planning. Her consulting experience includes four years of urban planning and natural resource management across both public and private sectors in Wisconsin.
At Snyder, she supports a variety of planning efforts through her expertise in GIS and geospatial analysis, including interactive mapping, spatial data visualization, and digital tools that enhance both technical analysis and public engagement. She regularly facilitates in-person and online community engagement, designing surveys, managing virtual outreach platforms, and developing interactive story maps to reach broader audiences.
Ms. Putnam applies these skills across a range of Snyder’s core projects, including parks and recreation plans, comprehensive plans, and stream and wetland mitigation banking projects. Her contributions include GIS mapping, narrative writing, credit calculation assistance, and the creation of clear, compelling materials that support decision-making and client communication. With a strong foundation in environmental planning and stakeholder engagement, she helps deliver integrated, place-based solutions that reflect both community values and ecological goals.
