David Calease

About
Dave Calease, brings over a decade of historic preservation experience to his role as Synder & Associate’s Architectural Historian. SOI-qualified as a historian and architectural historian, he specializes in architectural history surveys, National Register of Historic Places eligibility and nomination writing, and navigating the Section 106 process. Dave has overseen the Section 106 program and the National Register of Historic Places program in multiple states, assisting partners through each of those processes to successful conclusions of their projects. He has successfully prepared multiple National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmark nominations, documenting some of the Midwest’s most significant places. Dave’s appreciation for local history helps him view each resource in relation to its historic context, creating an understanding its significance and historic integrity. He’s worked closely with federal and state agencies, as well as city and county officials to ensure that state and federal preservation regulations are complied with.
