Starkweather Bike Path

Completed June 2010.

In June 2010, the final link in the Starkweather Bike and Pedestrian Path connecting the Isthmus and East Washington corridors with the Madison Campus was completed. Snyder & Associates provided construction management and full-time construction observation for this Aberg Avenue/State Route 30 bridge crossing. The work under this contract consisted of grading, base aggregate dense, storm sewer, concrete pavement, asphaltic concrete pavement, concrete curb and gutter, structure B- 13-606, path lighting, pavement marking, tree plantings, landscaping, and all incidental items as necessary to complete the work as shown on plans and included in the contract.

The Starkweather Creek Path traces the waterway north from the Capital City State Trail through Madison’s eastern neighborhoods of Starkweather, Worthington Park, Eken Park, and Carpenter-Ridgeway. The scenic trail also features two dedicated bridge crossings over busy Washington Avenue/US 151 and Aberg Avenue/State Route 30.
