Located at the City of Altoona’s east interchange with Interstate 80, the new Hampton Inn & Suites hotel provides much-needed lodging accommodations for a growing community. Texas-based Patriot Hospitality recognized the need for more hotel options along this busy corridor and partnered with Snyder & Associates to develop the site to meet the Hampton Inn standards.
An attractive, permanent pond with native plantings was added next to the hotel to collect stormwater runoff.
Situated on a 3.2-acre site in the new, Eastpointe Parkway neighborhood, this four-story hotel includes 90 rooms, a business center with meeting rooms, an indoor pool, and a well-appointed fitness center. The Snyder & Associates team provided site development for the project, including all survey work performed by our own in-house survey crew. We also contacted all utility providers in the area to ensure a well-coordinated site development process.
During the design process, our team recognized the need for enhanced stormwater mitigation efforts. To that end, a shared permanent pond was created between the Hampton property and a neighboring facility for better stormwater management. Extensive landscape plantings were also strategically added to the design to enhance the site and provide aesthetic balance.
