Madison & Main Apartments Meet Residential & Commercial Need

Wisconsin Community Benefits from Much-Needed Mixed-Use Development

Technically considered a part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area, the Village of Waunakee in Wisconsin has a lot to offer residents and commuters. Surrounded by farmland, this scenic rural community has experienced steady population growth for several decades while still retaining its small-town charm. The influx of new residents seeking this tranquil environment has not only placed a premium on quality housing opportunities but also created a demand for upscale commercial sites.

To address both of these needs, the Madison & Main Apartment Complex recently opened adjacent to the newly reconstructed Main Street. This three-story, mixed-use facility combines first-rate living accommodations with street-level retail locations on the Main Street side of the building. The designer of this unique project, Avenue Architects, brought in the professionals with Snyder & Associates to develop the building location to take maximum advantage of the space available.

An open-air space in front of the retail locations creates an inviting environment.

Working with a space-constrained parcel, our team provided site development for the project and integrated the necessary stormwater infrastructure to meet city code. Additionally, they contacted all utility providers in the area to ensure a well-coordinated site development process. Attractive landscape plantings were strategically added to the design to enhance the site and create an aesthetic balance. An outdoor green space surrounding the parking area creates a semi-secluded courtyard environment for use by residents.

Located close to shopping and the scenic Village Park, the Madison & Main Apartments offers high-quality onsite features and amenities in a family-friendly environment. The creation of this complex has been a welcomed addition to the Village of Waunakee in their ongoing quest to meet the housing needs of residents. Snyder & Associates has the expertise developers and communities want to create the optimal site plan for their unique situation.
